Peach Fuzz Wedding Inspiration

Every year, Pantone select a colour of the year.

This year, the Pantone is ‘Peach Fuzz’.  The name just resonates fun, summer and whimsy and I felt I had to create a photoshoot based on this summery colour.  The feminine, peachy tones bring warmth and charm to weddings.  From soft salmon to vibrant coral, the variety of peach shades adds a playful touch.

I knew just the photographer who could help me create a stylish, yet playful shoot – Katie of @daisybell_photography.  Being located in the Ribble Valley, she has created a great network of wedding suppliers who work throughout Lancashire and the Northwest.  It was Katie who managed to pull most of the team together and who took my random ideas and curated the beautiful mood board.

Wedding Mood Board

This set the tone for the images we wanted to create. We were after a sense of elegance and glamour.  Crow Wood Hotel, a well-known wedding venue nestling in the rolling hills of the Lancashire countryside, provided the perfect backdrop to our dreamy shoot.

With the help of Genelle @winniedotlingerie, we made sure our bride started off the day wearing some glamorous lingerie, and a pair of killer heels.  I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for a gorgeous shoe. In keeping with the romantic, modern and elegant theme, Holly’s natural makeup soft curls were finished with a black bow by Nat and Laura.  All the accessories were supplied by Sarah Layton Jewellers.  These were swapped throughout the day to reflect the changing mood – more formal for the morning, turning to a sense of whimsy and play for the evening.

Wedding photo shoot planning

As we were planning the shoot, I knew the type of gown I wanted and the girls at Amelia’s bridal, another established Lancashire wedding supplier, came up trumps. The statement ball gown added a sense of drama and opulence.

When you have such a gorgeous skirt, it needs to be shown off and here you can see it draped beautifully over the back of a vintage car supplied by @malvernweddingcars.  I hunted high and low for the right car for the day and the team at Malvern came to our rescue.

We dressed the groom in a classic black tuxedo. Looking this sharp, the only thing missing is his bride.  I know there are lots of colour options for men these days, but there is something elegant and timeless about a well fitted black tux that cannot be beaten.

Wedding table decor

To continue the nod to old world glamour we created a champagne tower from vintage coupes, trimmed with this season's must have bows.

We wanted the flower arrangements to reflect the effortless chic of the shoot and Jen from Fleur Designs UK delivered this in spades. I’m all about textures and the floral arrangements, table scape with its layers of fabric and the full skirt of the dress, are reflected in the layered details of the cake.  I love working with textured fondant and so chose to cover this three tier cake with delicate peach-toned textured fondant.

Peach Wedding cake

A cascade of blossoms multi coloured wafer paper blossoms tumbling down the cake continue the theme of relaxed elegance.   Additional details, such as small, coloured pears, royal icing details and sugar flowers add variety to the design.  Each petal was painted with gold lustre, adding to the sense of opulence.  Sugar flowers, peaches and leaves continue the organic theme of the flower arrangements.

As a natural born feeder, I thought it would be great to use some of the fresh peaches to make fluffy marshmallows.  These went down a storm with the team.  Shoot days are long so feeding the crew is essential.
